I am going to be offering a webinar (sorry, it is to a specific, paid group) where we are going to be talking about managing our paperwork. I am also going to be discussing how to track your time and your money. If you want to see your or others’ priorities, look at how time and money are spent. How do you track your time? If you have no system right now, every night just try jotting down the number of hours you spent on certain tasks, especially sleep. Get into the habit of analyzing your time. You’ll be able to identify where you are the most efficient, what are time thieves, etc. You can’t solve your time problems until you know what they are.
Now tracking your money. I highly recommend a system of tracking, especially Quicken. I have been using Quicken since the early 1990’s. But, you can use any system, even Excel, to see where your money is going. Then, set up a plan to TELL your money where you want it to go. This is also known as a budget, but too many people think of a budget as a diet instead of as a plan. Don’t know where to start? Start with your groceries and eating out. See how much you spent this month on food, and you may be in for a shock. Then, if necessary, you can make adjustments to your food buying and eating out. Happy tracking!
